Jeroen familiarised himself with public affairs while he was studying law in Utrecht. He was the secretary of a local organisation representing 7 student societies, after which he continued to become the chairman of the national representation of student societies. Jeroen was responsible for lobby and advocacy work on higher education and alcohol regulations on the behalf of 40.000 students. A successful lobby against certain higher education reforms culminated in the organisation of a manifestation where Jeroen addressed 15.000 students, professors and other stakeholders.
Jeroen is internationally orientated, and has strengthened his knowledge by working for Cordaid (one of the largest Dutch NGO’s) as a trainee in ‘lobby and advocacy’. In early 2016 Jeroen started his own business; a consultancy which focuses on helping organisations with Public Affairs management, lobby activities and advocacy projects both within the national and international arena’s.
