Added value healthcare

A big healthcare organisation proves its added value to various municipalities

Context and issue

A big healthcare organisation is faced with the decentralisation of healthcare in the Netherlands, meaning that the organisation has to deal with numerous municipalities instead of one national government. The municipalities view the organisation as too bulky and commercial. They do not perceive the organisation as a potential partner in improving the healthcare of their residents.

Approach

Together with a small group of interested employees, we decide to revamp the stakeholdermanagement. The employees approach municipalities at a more technical level and earlier in the policy-cycle, directly suggesting smart improvements to policy.

Result

The municipalities view the healthcare organisation as a partner. Due to this relationship it is possible to introduce proposals for a review of the rent regulation in several active municipalities. Going forward the healthcare organisation is authorised to assign housing.
